I am just your average woman, taking it one day at a time, trying to do more and be more every single day.
I am what my mom calls a “go-getter.” I know what I want and I work like hell to achieve it. I am a firm believer in setting goals, being organized, prioritizing, and hard work. That being said there are only so many hours in the day!
So who am I?
First of all, I am a wife and mother. I have two beautiful children Samantha and Jimmy. They seriously changed my world and I am thankful for them every single day. It’s amazing, no matter how bad things may be, they always find a reason to smile. Most of the time that reason is pancakes with extra syrup. They make you stop and realize there is joy in everything and we should not take life too seriously, because we may miss out on the great things right in front of our noses.
I am a scientist. I went to James Madison University and got my bachelors degree in Chemistry, then went on to Fairleigh Dickinson for a Masters in Cosmetic Science.
I am obsessed with health! Growing up I played all kinds of sports. I love the beach, swimming, hiking, and anything that will get me moving outdoors. In high school and college I played volleyball competitively. After college I began running and have completed two half marathons and a triathlon. I practice yoga and love watching my body and mind transform through the process. My new-found love is lifting and utilizing home workouts to really shape and tone. It has also dramatically improved my running performance, the ability to stay in yoga poses, and my clothes all fit better, so really a win all around! In 2015 I also began to learn how to ski. I always dreaded the winter because I was cooped up inside for 3 months just anxiously waiting for the season to pass. Now I have a reason to get outside in the snow! It has been so fun to learn something new.
I am here for you. I have found that through nutrition, support, and exercise I was able to completely turn around my view on life. I feel better, I have more energy, and I am ready to do it all.
I have begun to help other moms too. No one has ever done this walk called life before and can come back and tell us how it’s done. So let’s stick together and share what works! We need to support each other and be there for one another. No one has it all figured out. So here I am sharing what worked for me with you.
Mostly what you will find on this site are tidbits from my day to day life, tips for exercise, and occasionally recipes I have tried.
Lastly, on Fridays I try to put up a “fact Friday” post to help bring education around popular buzz words or topics we hear every day or are trending online.
